"A Taste of Downtown" tour is a 2 1/2 to 3 Hour Walking Tasting Tour through 18 blocks or 1.4 miles of Downtown San Diego. We will take you off the beaten path where you will visit 5 locations and taste variety of delicious items. Why go to 1 restaurant when you can go to 5 places on our tour try a variety of: Asain, Mexican, Mediterranean, Variety of Cheese, Fresh Baked Bread and we don’t forget Dessert! All tastings are done in the restaurants on the walking tour. Bottled water is included on this tour. Guests are welcome to purchase any drinks at any locations. Guests are welcome to purchase our 2 Imported Beers and 2 Wine Addtion for $20.00 per person. Consider this an early dinner. You will not walk away hungry. “A Taste of Mission Hills” ” Mission Hills was established in 1908. If you want to see another side of San Diego let us take you to a great community to experience great food. We will walk through the Heart of Mission Hills and taste some fantastic food. We will make visit a variety places for a tasting at each stop and your choice of dessert. All tastings are done in the restaurants on the walking tour. Water is included with this tour. Guests are welcome to purchase a Wine Tasting Pairing for an additional $25.00 per person. "A Taste of North Park" Let us take you to the community of North Park that is synonymous with the Craftsman cottages and bungalows that reflect California's era of suburban development and where the food scene is growing like crazy. Private Tours – We can do private tours for a min of 8 guests on either, or Driving or Walking Tours. If you just want to have a Team Building Group, Girls or Guys Night Out, Celebrate a Birthday, a Bachelor or Bachelorette Food Tour, or you have a group coming to San Diego for a visit. Driving Tours- Vehicles are air conditioned and fully licensed by the PUC. For security reasons and to reduce fraud a Photo ID will be required by the guide with a copy of your confirmation. The last name on the confirmation must match the Photo ID. Please Note: We need a Min of 8 bookings to run this tour and we have a 12 Max for this tour. Tour # 1 - Hometown Tour Tour includes Tasting at 6 to 7 Restaurants and bottled water. You will can have a variety from Fresh Baked Pastries, Fresh Brewed Coffee and Tea, Authentic Mexican, All American, Italian, Seafood and Dessert. We have a variety of Beef, Chicken, Pork, Seafood. "Hometown" and "Triple D Food Tour" - If you watch the Food Network then this is the Food Tour for you. On this driving tour you will taken to a combination of the places that Guy Fieri filmed his hit show Diners, Drive-ins and Dives and Hometown Favorites. You will be eating at places and tasting some of the items Guy had when he was visiting here and then visiting and eating at San Diego Hometown places. Let us take you on a tour of these great places and then you can choose the ones you want to go back to. Bottled water is included with this tour. Guests are welcome to purchase any drinks at any locations. This is Breakfast and Lunch.
A Taste of San Diego is the first and original food tour in San Diego. We are a True Food Tour we are not a history or city tour. We are all about introducing our guests to some great hometown food that San Diego has to offer.
Our Tasting tour was designed by a Third Generation San Diegan who has a real Passion for food and wanted to share these hometown restaurants with guests visiting San Diego.
When Annette goes on vacation she always looks for those local family owned restaurants to go eat at, they tend to have great food. She even tries to get the recipes so she can make when she comes home.
This is why Annette created and started A Taste of San Diego, to give our guests that opportunity to visit and eat at San Diego's hometown local hidden treasures and to see a bit more of America’s Finest City.
We will go inside each place where we can sit and taste the food for a brief time. We will need to stay on a schedule and cannot stay at one place too long or we may have to miss a stop to get back on time.
Some of our stops you can purchase food items and we encourage our guests to do so if we have the time.
Our Food Tasting includes a variety of meats (Beef, Chicken, Pork and Fish) and we cannot alter the menu too much for vegetarians at this time.
If you have food restrictions or allergies please let us know when you are booking your tour. We can make a slight change on a few menu items if needed. We cannot guarantee that our food tasting items are kosher.
For Children coming on the tour, we do not offer a discounted price because the amount of food does not change for a child versus an adult. If a child is not going to participate in the tasting then there will be no charge since no food will be purchased for them. If a child is going to participate in the tasting tour you will need to purchase a ticket for the tour. Please make a note when you make your reservations on line, in the guest and pick up box.
On our Tasting Tour you will not only taste great food you will see some great sites of Americas Finest City also.
